Twice Upon A Time Release

Twice Upon A Time by Hope Irving
Publication Date: October 31st, 2015
Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance

Summary

Once upon a time, there was the wandering soul of Morgann, an 8th century Irish calligrapher-monk longing to be reunited with his soul mate. Deirdre was his forbidden love, a witch with whom he wrote a coveted book.

Under her spell, the souls of the star-crossed lovers travel from bodies to bodies until they find each other. Eventually.
That became his quest: unearth her new body and trigger her memory, for she is clueless about whom she once was. Unfortunately their story didn't get a chance to become a fairy tale yet it still turned out as a famous urban legend referred as The Black Angel Book.

Twice upon a time, not so long ago, there was me, rational and devastated Rose. I needed to get a grip, said my French mum after my year of numbness due to a painful break-up that led me to cut my wrist daily, to feel something, anything.

So she sent me off to the free-spirited village of Provincetown, Massachusetts, to spend the summer with my American relatives. And just like that, I wasn’t myself any longer. Because someone pulled me out of the darkness and bewitched me, somehow.

I couldn’t wait to jump his bones… but why was he holding back?
He couldn’t wait to welcome me into his world… but was I ready to question my convictions and acknowledge that my self-inflicted cuts were now healing in record time?

How could I have imagined he was longing for his own unorthodox fairytale to come true? Frantically.

My Thoughts:

The author was kind enough to provide me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review

WOW, this book was amazing! I loved reading about Jon and Kate so much! Kate has been kicked out of her apartment for a couple of weeks and has nowhere to stay; Evelyn decides she will stay with her boyfriend Tate and Kate can stay in her room until she can move into her apartment again. This doesn’t sit well with Evelyn’s roommate Jon, he loves Kate but they don’t really get along too well and can’t be in the same room for more than five minutes without bickering.

I really enjoyed this book, the bickering between Jon and Kate had me laughing out loud and there is so much tension between those two. I loved how Kacey still involved the characters we met in the first book; I loved seeing what they were all up to especially Evelyn and Tate, those two have a special place in my heart. I also really enjoyed the way we were introduced to some of Jon's and Kate other friends, there is just this way that Kacey writes her characters that you can’t help but fall in-love with them.  I loved to see the character development Jon and Kate go through, Kate is such a strong women and it was nice to see her bring her walls down and open up to Jon; those two complement each other so well. It was also really nice to see how much Jon cared for her, he comes across as a little overprotective but he means well.  As much as this book had me laughing with all the craziness that is Kate towards the end I was an emotional wreck. I loved that Kate and Jon got their own story, I loved reading more about them and seeing how their relationship developed. I can’t wait to read the third book! This book can be read as a stand alone, but I recommend you read the first one too because Tate and Evelyn's story is equally as amazing.

My Thoughts:

The Author was kind enough to provide me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book, where do I even start! I loved it so much I can’t find words to describe my love for all these amazing characters.  After losing her job Evelyn and her best-friend Jon who just came back from the Army decide to start their own private investigation firm with the help of their other best-friend Kate of course; what Evelyn doesn't realize is that being a private investigator is harder than she thought and its proven when she starts falling for one of the guys she is supposed to be investigating Tate.

This book was so fun to read! All the characters where so easy to connect with and you couldn't help loving them. I really enjoyed the P-I concept in this book, it made it really interesting and kept me up to the wee hours of the night. I loved the friendship between Kate, Evelyn and Jon you could tell they really cared for each-other and I really loved that even though Jon and Evelyn hadn't seen each other for years as soon as they were back in each other’s life's it was like he had never gone anywhere. Tate oh, the sweetness that is Tate, I immediately fell in love with him he was so sweet, caring and so freaking HOT! I'm honestly hoping for another book where I can read from Evelyn's and his perspective. As much as this book had me laughing between all the craziness going on between Kate, Jon and Evelyn towards the end I was a mess and had my crying face on. I really enjoyed this book and loved that even though it was short the love between Tate and Evelyn wasn't instant it was something that grew as they spent more time together and got to know each-other. I'm so excited to start Uncovering Desire and reading more about Kate!

Synopsis:

The revelations he uncovers to her about her family's past changes everything, and as her relationship and feelings for Zander deepen, so do the risks involved. She must now accept her fate and face the true reality of who and what she is. Even if that means giving up everything, including being human.

My Thoughts:

The author was kind enough to send me a copy of her book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was very interesting and different I really enjoyed the concept and all the different creatures that Michelle brought together in this book. Angel is a normal 16 year old until she begins to have nightmares and visions. When the new boy Zander starts to take an interest in her she can feel this strange pull towards him, Zander reveals that she and her family come from another Galaxy from a race called Oleah (who are like centaurs except with the body of a lion). I don't want to give too much away so I will leave it at that.

Like I said at the beginning this book is very interesting I really enjoyed the different concept, I have never read anything like it before; with that said I did have some minor problems with it. First I felt that Angel gave her trust to Zander a little too quickly I would have made him work for it, I mean he had done horrible things to her family and all she had to hear to trust him was I'm not like that anymore, second Julie, Angels best friend was very irritating at points I mean I get it you want your friend to be with Zander, but at some points I felt like she was the one interested in hooking up with him.  There were also some things that kept me turning the pages like the fact that there are vampires, angels, Satans sister and Demons that just intrigued me so much! Also towards the end the book starts getting a lot more action and we start to see more of the Oleahs; which I’m really looking forward to. I am going to continue with the series, I really want to know more about Zander and Angel; I’m also very intrigued to see where the story goes.

Synopsis:

25-year-old model Sophia Cavall has a seemingly nice life walking the runway until she begins to receive death threats through social media and is almost kidnapped by a masked figure. She tries to fight off her assailant, but luckily the attempt ends in failure when mysterious business magnate Oliver Black intervenes.

Sophie doesn’t know it, but the stakes are high: her life and her heart. Desperately needing support, she turns to a few trusted people, and to Oliver most of all. But can he be trusted, who speaks the truth, and the question on everyone’s lips: who is the man in the mask?

Her checkered past returns to entangle her. She will come to realize that it is not dead after all…it is still very much alive.

A Diamond in the Rough is a love story, a thriller, funny in parts and moving in others. Most of all, it is a gripping debut novel that will have you guessing and turning pages until you reach the end.

My Thoughts:

The author was kind enough to provide me with a copy of her book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was AMAZING, it kept me up to the wee hours of the night the only reason I didn't finish it in one sitting was because my eyes kept shutting after a while. Sophia is a model that has been receiving threats on twitter, but she thinks nothing of it it’s until the night she almost gets kidnapped, it is there where Oliver comes to the rescue and saves her, after that night Sophia starts meeting with Oliver to discuss her safety and how to go about with the press she and her model agency are getting. Oliver and Sophia grow feelings for each other and start dating; Oliver will do anything in his power to keep her safe.

Gosh, I couldn't get enough of this book! I just finished it a couple of hours ago and I'm still going through all the stuff that happened. I loved Hopkins writing it just kept me wanting to turn the pages. Sophia is a very strong character, I don't think I can go through half the stuff she goes through on a daily basis without breaking down, I really liked the emotional development she goes through. Oliver oh, Oliver gosh I fell in love with his character, he knows exactly what he wants and isn't afraid to go for it; when I  would read scenes with Oliver in them I would get goosebumps the way he spoke and treated Sophia makes any girl dissolve into a puddle. I really liked the thriller part of the book it kept the book interesting and kept me on my toes just when I thought I knew who was sending the threats Hopkins would prove me wrong. I like a book that makes you think you know what’s going to happen and then changes it up on you. This book was such a good read and I'm glad that the sequel comes out tomorrow because this girl need more Oliver in her life, I really hope there is more of him on the second book. Also with that ending I can't wait to see where the story goes. If you haven't picked this book up yet, I highly recommend it! It has become one of my favorites.

Synopsis:

Ditch Lane Diaries: Ruby’s Choice is the debut novel by D.F. Jones and book one of the Ditch Lane Diaries. Ruby’s Choice is a coming of age story set in the late 1970’s in Middle Tennessee with a splash of paranormal which will blossom in the second and third books of the series. Ruby’s Choice-Everglade, Tennessee, 1977 Stuck in the Middle with Two Ever since Ruby discovered an amber-encased spider web in the Campbell Ridge Cave, she has had dreams of births, deaths and glimpses into the future. Ruby’s dreams have foretold the daughter of her high school friend, Cathy, the death of her beloved Aunt Sammie, and the coming of a new love in her life. Ruby’s shift is coming to a close at Everglade General Store. As she stacks the last row of bath soap, Ruby recalls the delicious dream she had the night before. In the dream, a gorgeous guy is kissing a tickle spot, just behind her left earlobe, sending shivers up her spine. If only that dream could come true, instead of the one where a state trooper gives her a seventy-five dollar speeding ticket! Ruby snaps back to reality when she hears the store’s front door bells chime. If she didn’t know any better, she’d say the frickin’ Adonis from her sexy dream just walked through the door. Reed Jackson and Brent Brown introduce themselves to Ruby as members of the local baseball team her brother, George, manages. Brent mentions they specifically came out to the store to meet George’s hot, little sister. Ruby is slightly confused when she hears Reed murmur Tap It under his breath, but then she remembers the rumor going around campus about Reed and Brent’s dating game, where the two best friends compete to have a girl profess undying love to one of them. And Tap It is a winner takes all—all of what, though, Ruby has no clue. Ruby decides that she’ll play along, but according to her rules. She’ll suss out if either of these players is worthy of her love and respect. One thing is for sure, Ruby is no pawn. Who will be Ruby’s Choice?

My Thoughts:

The author was kind enough to send me a copy of her book in exchange for an honest review.

I couldn't put this book down once I started it. The ending was such a crazy twist I did not see coming. Ruby and her friends were exploring a cave when they stumbled into a hidden room where Ruby finds a hidden stone; after she leaves the cave with the stone she begins to have dreams that foretell the future. So, when the guy she dreamed about Reed walks into her job she is very excited especially because he is very HOT. What she doesn't know is that Reed and his friend Brent walking into the store was no coincidence, they walked in to meet her and to start a game called TapIt where they both try get the girl fall in love with one of them, but as the game goes on Brent and Reed really fall in love with her and one of them confesses the rules of the game it is then that Ruby decides to play the game as well, but someone will get hurt she just hopes its not her.

This book was so good! Ruby was such a strong character she didn’t take crap from anyone and when it came to the game she was the one calling the shots. I fell in love with Reed immediately he was such an amazing character and knew what he wanted; I also really liked Brent even though he did come across as a little over possessive at times.  This love story had me in an emotional roller-coaster towards the end I had my ugly crying face on lol. When you start the book it seems that it's going to be a paranormal, but Jones focuses mostly on the love story aspect, there is paranormal throughout the book, but like I said it mostly concentrates on the love story. The ending was much unexpected, I mean really unexpected I was in shock when I finished the book.  I really loved all the characters in this book they all have a special place in my heart. I really enjoyed this book and it’s the perfect coming of age story with a splash of paranormal in it.
